Why We Advocate
Foundations is a public benefit corporation with a mission to Make Seattle Founders Successful. Our charter compels us to promote the long-term vitality, inclusiveness, and effectiveness of greater Seattle area technology founders by fostering community, collaboration, and shared learning among startup founders; providing physical and programmatic infrastructure that supports early-stage company formation and growth; expanding access to mentorship, peer support, and capital-readiness resources; and contributing to local economic development and innovation for the benefit of founders, workers, and the broader public.
To fulfill this mission, we actively advocate on behalf of the startup community to encourage entrepreneurship and investment in the region. We engage with policymakers at both the city and state level to ensure that the interests of founders, early-stage companies and the broader innovation ecosystem are represented.
